About Green Mommy Guide Conta

Our Green Reading Book Club is run by Karalyn Wendell. Karalyn is currently working on her Masters Degree in Literacy Education birth through grade twelve at Nazareth College of Rochester, in Rochester, New York. She has her Bachelor of Science Degrees in Early Childhood Education and Childhood Education, with a minor in English with an emphasis in Language and Literature. While she diligently works at her graduate studies, she is a substitute teacher for Pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade students in urban and suburban school districts in the Rochester area.

Green Mommy Guide was founded by Suzanne Istvan in 2008, shortly after the birth of her son, Drew. She had just become a stay-at-home-mom and stumbled upon an article on today’s cloth diapers. She was shocked to find how accessible and easy they were, and even more surprised that she had never heard this info. This made her wonder what other eco-friendly options might be available, and she set out to research organic food, natural skin care, and environmental fashion. After what seemed like a million Google searches, she became frustrated that there wasn’t a site with all of this information in one place. So she decided to start one. And Green Mommy Guide was born!

Our goal at Green Mommy Guide is to show moms the many options that are out there that are kinder to the environment and to their babies than conventional products, without being condescending or intimidating.

We are not paid for any of our reviews or suggestions. We do receive some compensation from affiliates/sponsors, but we would never recommend anything to you that we didn’t think was fabulous!
